I've just come back from visiting Addecco, the little temping agency that Lloyds forced me to use last year rather than employing me themselves. I was talking to a very nice young lady when the manager butted in.

To fill in the background, this is the person who dealt with me last year. Last year I sent off all my paperwork just after Easter to Addecco, and had a call from Lloyds about ten weeks later saying that Addecco claimed they had not received it. About ten minutes later this very same Addecco manageress rang me to say they'd 'just found' my paperwork. (To set the scene, this is whilst I was in a rowing boat in the middle of Lake Windermere ['Are you in a boat' she asked me] ).

She was rather bitchy and told me she didn't want to help me as when she'd rang me this April to ask if I wanted to work at Lloyds again I'd said no and apparently refused to give her my telephone number. Read carefully... she rang me and I wouldn't tell her my telephone number. Can you spot something slightly illogical there? She rang me!

She had also rung me on my mobile when I was on Windermere, and my number hasn't changed - perhaps she was just feeling bitchy today?

No doubt they will look at my email address on my CV and think 'shastrix.com? that's an odd url - I'll have a look...' and see this comment about them, so I wouldn't have thought they'll give me a job after I've said all this. Ah well.
