The anime look was more of an artifact than anything else. His eyes are still meant to be larger, and his nose and chin are pointier then they originally were, not to mention his hair. What I did update in his look is a slight tweaking in his hairstyle, a more defined jaw (probably not that visible on this particular page), and a manlier chest.
