Okay, really this is just an excuse to borrow the MacBook for a little while, but it will also serve as a medical update. Not that there's actually much to update anyone with. Also, it's interesting to note that none of the Back to the Future sequels had subtitles. Anyways, the next scene is I think: Scene 27 - May 2007 - Over the Phone Funky split screen effect with a wiggly line Hello? THE THIRD SURGEON Hello, is that James Johnson? JIM Yes. Yes it is. THE THIRD SURGEON Hello, my name's The Third Surgeon. I work for The First Surgeon. We've had a look at the report from the Second Surgeon and have decided that your blood clot is in fact a blood clot. JIM Oh right. THE THIRD SURGEON So, what The First Surgeon has decided is that he will do your operation here at the Royal Marsden in Chelsea, but before that we will put in an IVC Filter. Could you come in on Tuesday to discuss this in the clinic with The First Surgeon? JIM Yes of course. Scene 28 - A few days later - The Kitchen SFX: Telephone ringing SFX: Jim coming down the stairs to answer SFX: Answer phone gets there first as it picks up after 5 rings not 8. Hello? THE THIRD SURGEON Hello, is that James Johnson. JIM Yes. Yes it is. THE THIRD SURGEON Hello. This is the Third Surgeon. I have spoken to the First Surgeon and he says we don't need to bother you by bringing you up to the clinic on Tuesday. Scene 29 - Weds 30th May 2007 - The Kitchen SFX: Telephone ringing SFX: Answer phone gets there first as it picks up after 5 rings not 8. Hello. This is The Third Surgeon. I have spoken with the First Surgeon and he has now decided that we will do your operation at the Royal Brompton in Chelsea, where the Cardiac Surgeons will be on hand, and there will be no need for the IVC Filter. The First Surgeon will now contact the Second Surgeon to arrange your operation. Scene 30 - Weds 6th May 2007 - The Doormat A letter arrives from the Third Surgeon reiterating the content of the telephone message. Scene 31 - Mon 11th May 2007 - Jim's Room SFX: Jim trying to call the office of the First Surgeon. No answer. Scene 32 - Tue 12th May 2007 - Jim's Room SFX: Jim trying to call the office of the First Surgeon. No answer. Scene 33 - Wed 13th May 2007 - Jim's Room SFX: Jim trying to call the office of the First Surgeon. Hello, this is the First Surgeon's Secretary. JIM Hello, this is Jim. What is the status of my operation? FIRST SECRETARY It says here that the Third Surgeon told you the First Surgeon would be contacting the Second Surgeon to arrange a date. Try calling the Second Surgeon's Secretary. Scene 33A I don't know. I'll have to ask the Second Surgeon. I'll ring you back. Scene 34 - 17:45pm SFX: Ring ring. Hello? SECOND SECRETARY Hello. Have you spoken to the First Surgeon's Secretary? JIM Yes. She told me to ring you. SECOND SECRETARY Well the Second Surgeon says he sent his report to the First Surgeon on the 15th May, and hasn't heard from him since. Scene 34A The First Secretary has gone home. Please leave a message. JIM Grrrrrrr... Scene 35 - 08:45 the next morning SFX: Telephone Hello? FIRST SECRETARY I got your message. What I'm going to do is e-mail all the letters that were sent to you to the Second Secretary and if you ring her later you can find out what's going on. Scene 35A - 11:00ish SFX: Brrrr brrrr Hello? FIRST SECRETARY Hello. The Second Secretary has got back to me and has told me that the First Surgeon will need to contact the Second Surgeon directly. JIM Like I was told he was going to two weeks ago? FIRST SECRETARY Yes, something like that. He's off this week though, so he'll arrange it next week and someone will give you a call when it's all sorted. Ring me on Thursday if you haven't heard by then. Bye. To be continued... (I hope) |
