Rootes Revamped
As many of you may know, JiM has returned to the land of Warwick slightly early, and so has been given the opportunity to get a sneak preview of the work being done in New Rootes:

On arrival at L block, JiM and ASH found a crowd of builders who have yet to complete their mission to upgrade Rootes for the 21st Century. We moved in closer...

Clearly they were doing very little. Obviously they have read their 'Building For Dummies' and know that they should never be finished on time...

The slaves... I mean layabouts... I mean builders... were working on the construction of some wooden contraption inside the door. There are new front doors, new just inside doors, and new doors to the left as well... what the purpose of these is remains to be discovered (as is whether they will ever be finished!!!)

This is L2nd. The Kitchen door has changed from Red to Blue, however the fire doors have to be Red (so we are told). The hand rails have also been painted and so have the walls!

A black skirting thing has been added in the loos! (actually it was there b4 but was then white)

Sue was giving us the tour and here she shows us the black lining in the bathroom too. (Berni has the week off!).

JiM's door has not been stolen!

As can be seen, the orange notice board has been replaced by a blue one (okay maybe it's just new paintwork), and the walls are yellow. At least the curtains match now though.

The shelves have also been painted blue and they seem to be lower down than before.

My room looks far far far too empty. Sue can now be seen in the corridor with a pole of some description.

It's all painted but the cupboards are the same.

And yes, as can be seen in this photo the paint is already chipped!!! And I've only been here for five minutes!!! I have already complained to Justin! (spot Ash in the background!)

Now we move into the kitchen, which has been deep cleansed and the ceiling has been painted. Also the curtains have been washed!!! No sign of tea towels yet!

Here we can see the door, with Ash, Sue and the Other Bernie who is cleaning there this week (we think she is mean but don't tell anyone we said that!). So, what is it that the cleaners are looking at?

Oh yes indeed - a new glass bin! But... can you spot the deliberate mistake? Let's rotate the bin and zoom in...

And finally... this photo was taken today:

And here concludes our tour of Rootes L2nd. We'll see more on Saturday!!!
